Comments
General Comments:
Didn't observe trail erosion in delineated meadow area as historic records indicated. Unsure how to properly rate lacustrine systems. Is the trail having an impact on meadow veg on lake edge? the trail does bisect meadow veg, but trail is not deeply incised. Potentially 2 areas where trail is impacting meadow drainage. (see photos) (in lower lake). Upper lake -Appears unimpacted, off trail and up steep slope; likely few visitors, Lac Fringe, meadow veg sampled upper transect, tadpoles (RAMU?), Tarn with no clear outlet Connecting Corridor -no channel, mostly vacinium, did not do transect, very steep, connects two lakes T Meadow Fragment -Appears healthy First Lake near trail in SLB -photo 3694, WPT 1937 => entrenched trail breaking up meadow continuity, 1 check dam in trail on SLB side of ridge, photos 3695 WPT 1938. Rae Lakes Side of ridge of sixty lakes basin trail -Trail entrenched 3-4' beneath meadow surface in places, Evidence of check dams in the top 3/4 of trail before reaching lake on ridge/ meadow polygon, About half of dams appeared functional, did not GPS/photo 2-3 dams
