Comments
General Comments:
1-Encroachment: More dominant in lower meadow section. age class ranges (teenage trees). Maybe due to historic fire 2-Headcut: ! large Headcut dropping from meadow surface to main channel in upper meadow. well vegetated, draining pool above seepy flows from hillside, lodgepole under Modirale.JH:3.5', W: 40'', L:139'' -Historic fire; lots of downed, charred wood. In some places it fills main channel aggrades sediment -Main channel is super deep (see scorecard and photos). Could be because of "V" shaped valley. Definitely not the dominant source of water to the meadow. Potential for meadow degradation in the future because water drops a long way from meadow surface to channel. -Some cottonwood in unassessed section and lower section -Meadows seem fragile with sphagnum moss (upper meadow) and soft soild. would not reccommend grazing. Also steepness can accelerate erosive features. didn't asess very eastern meadow section. mostly willow and looked healthy.
